Before you buy your Turks and Caicos Islands eSIM
Is my phone compatible?
Quick check: dial *#06# on your phone. If an EID number appears, your phone supports eSIM. It also needs to be carrier-unlocked.
How much data do I need?
A rough estimate based on typical use. Video and hotspot use the most data.
eSIM Turks and Caicos for Grace Bay, Provo villas and a day trip or two
Set up an eSIM Turks and Caicos plan at home and your phone is on FLOW’s 4G/LTE by the time your flight reaches the gate at Providenciales International Airport.
Most visitors base themselves on Provo, and that’s where the signal is best. Grace Bay, Leeward, Long Bay and the lanes around Chalk Sound are all well covered. Before a trip to North and Middle Caicos, or a sailing day or dive out to West Caicos, save offline maps, because coverage there gets sparse.
On price, be realistic. Data in the islands is costly, and a Turks and Caicos eSIM from us costs more than our plans for most of Europe. With good resort Wi-Fi, a week on Grace Bay can run on the smallest plan. Bigger plans make sense for a villa stay with a rental car, a kitesurfing trip or remote work.
Calls and texts aren’t part of the deal, since it’s a data-only plan; WhatsApp or FaceTime covers calls, and texts still reach the home SIM in your phone’s other slot. You can buy a Turks and Caicos SIM card on Provo, but it means a phone shop and your passport, which is worth it for a long stay rather than a week on the beach. The plan covers these islands alone; for a connection in Miami, add our US eSIM.

Turks and Caicos Travel and Connectivity Guide
Best on Provo, thinner on North and Middle Caicos and the water
eSIM Turks and Caicos coverage by island
Providenciales, which everyone calls Provo, is where most visitors stay and where FLOW’s 4G/LTE is strongest. The airport, the resorts and villas along Grace Bay, Leeward, Long Bay and Turtle Cove, and the roads down to Chalk Sound and Taylor Bay are all well inside it. Grand Turk is small, with signal in Cockburn Town and at the cruise center near its southern tip. North Caicos and Middle Caicos are another matter. They’re large, lightly populated islands, and while there’s service around the settlements, it can drop on the long empty roads and along the causeway that joins the two. South Caicos and Salt Cay have even fewer people, so plan on gaps.
Network
This eSIM connects to one network only: FLOW, part of Cable & Wireless. Speeds on Provo are fine for video calls and for sending home photos of that impossibly blue water, and we don’t cap or slow anything. The sea is where it changes. The beach snorkel spots at Bight Reef and Smith’s Reef are right off the sand, so the phone in your bag stays in range. A dive boat heading out to West Caicos, or a sailing day to the farther cays, can drop off the network for a good stretch.
Data usage tips
• 1–3 GB: a resort week on Grace Bay with good Wi-Fi, or a day ashore on Grand Turk
• 5–10 GB: a villa week with a rental car, maps, restaurant reservations and plenty of photos, or a kitesurfing trip where you check the forecast every morning
• 20 GB: a month or more on Provo, or remote work off your phone’s hotspot
Tourist highlights
Grace Bay Beach runs for miles along Provo’s north shore, with the reef close enough to snorkel straight from the beach at Bight Reef (also called Coral Gardens) and at Smith’s Reef near Turtle Cove. Long Bay, on the southeast side, has shallow water and steady trade winds, which is why the kitesurfers base themselves there. Chalk Sound National Park is a shallow lagoon dotted with small rocky islets, best seen from a kayak or paddleboard, and nearby Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay are calm beaches that suit small children. Iguana Island (Little Water Cay) is home to protected rock iguanas. On North and Middle Caicos you’ll find Mudjin Harbour, the Conch Bar Caves and beaches where you might not see anyone all afternoon. Over on Grand Turk, Cockburn Town keeps its old colonial houses along Front Street, the National Museum is there too, and the wall drops away just off the west coast, a short boat ride for divers.
Apps that help
Google Maps covers Provo well, although addresses are loose, so a resort or villa name often works better than a street number. You’ll get around by taxi or rental car. Taxis aren’t metered, fares are often quoted per person, and it pays to agree the price before you set off. Many visitors rent a car on Provo. Driving is on the left, even though plenty of the cars are left-hand-drive imports from the US. The ferry to North Caicos leaves from Leeward, and small local airlines fly to Grand Turk and the other islands; save timetables and bookings offline. Villa managers, boat captains and kite schools tend to use WhatsApp. The islands use the US dollar, and resorts and restaurants take cards.
Roaming tips
UK travellers sometimes assume a British Overseas Territory falls inside their roaming allowance. It usually doesn’t, and most US plans price the islands as international too, so check your rate before you leave. On the phone itself, make the Esimy eSIM your data line with its roaming switched on, and keep roaming disabled on your home line. The Turks and Caicos plan only connects once you land. If you’re changing planes in Miami, Charlotte or New York, our US eSIM covers the layover, and anyone coming on from Nassau can use our Bahamas eSIM for that part of the trip.
Why travelers choose Esimy Turks and Caicos
- FLOW 4G/LTE at Providenciales International, along Grace Bay and around Chalk Sound
- Set up before the flight, so your villa directions are on screen as you leave arrivals
- The plan’s days start in Turks and Caicos, not on the day you buy
- Share data by hotspot with the family’s tablets in the rental car
- Topping up keeps the same eSIM, so there’s no second QR code
Best time to visit
- December to April: dry, sunny and peak season; Grace Bay rooms go early around Christmas and spring break
- January to April: humpback whales pass Grand Turk and Salt Cay on their migration
- Late November: the Conch Festival at Blue Hills on Provo
- Hurricane season (June to November): cheaper rooms and fewer people, though August to October carries the most risk

eSIM FAQs
Common questions about using eSIM in Turks and Caicos Islands
Can I use the same eSIM in the Bahamas or the US?
Not with this plan, which connects in Turks and Caicos only. For Nassau or the Exumas, use our Bahamas eSIM; for a layover in Miami or a few days in Florida, our US eSIM.
Is my phone compatible?
It needs eSIM support and mustn’t be carrier-locked. That rules in recent iPhones and current Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones; our list of supported devices confirms individual models.
Can I run a hotspot from it?
You can. It’s handy for a child’s tablet on the drive to Chalk Sound, less so for a laptop that wants to sync everything at once.
What happens when the data runs low?
Top up from the app or your Esimy dashboard; your current eSIM simply gets more data. It’s a two-minute job on villa Wi-Fi.
Is there an unlimited data plan for Turks and Caicos?
There isn’t one. The biggest plan is 20 GB, and most people need far less.
- Resort week with decent Wi-Fi: 1 to 3 GB
- Villa week with a car and lots of photos: 5 GB
- Two weeks, or a kite trip where you check the wind apps constantly: 10 GB
How do I set it up before flying to Provo?
Three steps. Buy online (there’s no ID check) and open the QR code from our email. Scan it on Wi-Fi before you fly, from the cellular or mobile settings. On arrival, choose the eSIM for mobile data and make sure its Data Roaming toggle is on. The APN looks after itself, and validity starts from there.
Do I need an eSIM Turks and Caicos plan for a cruise stop at Grand Turk?
Probably not, unless you want maps or messages ashore. The Grand Turk Cruise Center has its own beach and shops, and Cockburn Town is a short taxi ride away, so a day like that fits easily into the 1 GB plan. If you want one, install it at home before the cruise, and make sure your home SIM isn’t roaming while the ship is at sea.
What’s coverage like on North and Middle Caicos?
Patchy away from the settlements. The ferry from Provo to North Caicos takes around half an hour. Once you’re driving between Kew, Bottle Creek and the causeway to Middle Caicos, expect gaps, and around Mudjin Harbour and the Conch Bar Caves you may have no signal at all. Save offline maps and your rental car contact before you board.
Which network does it use?
FLOW. That’s the only network the eSIM joins, and it runs on 4G/LTE.
Is a Turks and Caicos phone number included?
No number, no calls, no SMS. It’s a data-only eSIM, and WhatsApp or FaceTime takes care of calls.
Will the eSIM Turks and Caicos plan work when I land at Providenciales?
From the moment you’re off the plane. Providenciales International Airport sits inside FLOW coverage, so you can message the villa manager from the luggage hall, as long as the eSIM’s Data Roaming is on.
What is the best eSIM for Turks and Caicos?
The simplest option for a holiday is a FLOW data plan you install before travelling. Ours runs on 4G/LTE, in sizes between 1 GB for 7 days and 20 GB for 30 days. It doesn’t ask for ID, and the days start counting at the first connection on the islands. If you’re living there for months, a local SIM with a local number will serve you better.
