Step 2 — Scan and install (do this BEFORE you fly). On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → scan with the camera → name the line “Esimy [country]” → choose “Esimy” as your default for cellular data. On Android (Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi): Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code → confirm. The eSIM installs as a second line — your primary SIM stays untouched.

Step 3 — Activate at the destination. The eSIM stays dormant until you toggle it on. When you land, open Settings → Cellular/SIM Manager → enable the Esimy line for data → enable Data Roaming (this is required for eSIM to authenticate on the local partner network — no roaming charges apply, the data is included in your plan). Almost every smartphone released since 2020 supports eSIM, but the 30-second test is to dial *#06# on your phone — if you see an “EID” number alongside your IMEI, your phone has eSIM hardware. Alternatively, on iPhone go to Settings → General → About → scroll to “Available SIM”; on Android go to Settings → About phone → IMEI information → look for EID. If EID appears, you are eSIM-ready and Esimy will work on your device.
