You can cancel your Esimy plan and get a full refund — returned to the card or payment method you used — any time before you scan the QR code, for up to 30 days after purchase. Once your eSIM is activated and working on a partner carrier, refunds to your original payment method are no longer possible — this is standard across the eSIM industry. In those cases we may credit your Esimy Wallet instead, where it sits alongside your 5% Loyalty Points and is usable on any future Esimy plan.

1. When you get a full refund
You are entitled to a full refund — returned to the card or payment method you used at checkout — in any of the following situations:
- You haven’t scanned the QR code yet — pre-activation cancellation is available within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
- The eSIM fails to activate despite following our setup guide and a support troubleshooting attempt.
- Your device is not compatible, even though we publish a compatible-device list before purchase.
- A confirmed technical fault on our side prevents you from using the service.
2. When you cannot get a refund to your original payment method
Refunds back to your card or original payment method are not available in these cases — and the reason for each is the same: your data plan was provisioned on a partner carrier’s network, and that cost cannot be reversed.
- The eSIM was scanned and successfully attached to a partner carrier — the data plan is consumed at the carrier level the moment activation succeeds.
- The plan is working as intended but you changed your mind, picked the wrong country, or no longer need it (industry-standard rule across all eSIM providers).
- Most or all of the included data has been used.
- The plan has expired (no rollover; expiry follows the validity period shown at purchase).
Good news: in any of the cases above, we may instead credit your Esimy Wallet with part or all of the unused value. The credit lands in the same Wallet that already holds your 5% Loyalty Points (1,000 points = €1) and any EUR top-ups. 3. Three real examples
- Sarah bought an Italy eSIM by mistake — she meant to buy Spain. She never scanned the QR code. → Full refund returned to her original card within 5–10 business days. (Pre-activation cancellation rule.)
- Marco scanned the QR code at Barcelona airport. The eSIM connected to Movistar and downloaded 100 MB before he changed his mind. → No refund to his card (activated and working), but we may credit his Esimy Wallet with the unused portion, where it sits next to his Loyalty Points for use on his next trip.
- Aisha’s iPhone refused to activate the eSIM despite three setup attempts and a chat with our support team. → Full refund returned to her original card, plus a small Esimy Wallet bonus as a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience.
4. Definitions
- “Refund” means money returned to the original payment method you used at checkout — the card, PayPal account, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other method that funded the order. It is not paid in physical cash and is not a separate cheque or bank transfer.
- “Activated” means the QR code was scanned and your device successfully attached to a partner carrier network. Installing the eSIM profile on your phone alone is not activation.
- “Esimy Wallet credit” is store credit added to your Esimy Wallet. It lives in the same Wallet as your 5% Loyalty Points (1,000 points = €1) and any EUR you’ve topped up. It never expires, applies to any future Esimy plan, can be combined with promo codes and the cashback you keep earning, and is non-transferable.
- “Pre-activation cancellation” means cancelling an order before the QR code is scanned, within 30 days of purchase, for a full refund returned to your original payment method.
5. Deadlines
- Pre-activation cancellation: within 30 days of purchase, as long as the QR code has not been scanned.
- Activation-failure refund: within 30 days of the activation attempt, with a brief description of what went wrong.
- Refund processing: once approved, the refund returns to your original payment method (the card, PayPal account or other method you paid with) within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. Esimy Wallet credit is added to your account immediately on approval.
6. What to do if activation fails
Before requesting a refund, please try the steps below — most activation issues resolve in under five minutes.
- Confirm your device is on the Esimy compatible-device list and is carrier-unlocked.
- Make sure you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network when scanning the QR code.
- Restart your device after installing the eSIM profile.
- In Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data, confirm the Esimy line is enabled and set as the data line.
- Toggle Airplane Mode on and off once you arrive in your destination country.
If these steps do not work: contact support@esimy.net and you are entitled to a full refund — returned to your original payment method — per this policy.
7. How to request a refund
Email support@esimy.net with:
- Your order number
- The email address used for the purchase
- A short description of the issue (or simply “Pre-activation cancellation — QR not scanned” if applicable)
We respond to refund requests within 24 hours. Once approved, the refund is returned to the original payment method you used at checkout (5–10 business days, depending on your bank), or added to your Esimy Wallet immediately if you have chosen that option.
